A geo-located, narrative-driven prototype to explore and see the city of Melbourne through the lens of modernism during the 1956 Summer Olympics.
Exploring Melbourne’s city is fun, but traveling back in time is even better. Modern Melbourne was a UX project situated around the streets and parks of the CBD, providing a narrative-based tour that propels 1956 into the hands of the user.
Figuring out the clues or following directional tools, MM guides the user from the Arts Centre through Flinders and Bourke St, up to Fitzroy Gardens and back down to the the Olympic Park. AR technologies allow the user to breathe the fresh air and subsequently peer into Melbourne’s modernist history.
